When Life Feels Frenetic

Over the past few months it feels like life has dramatically shifted. Naturally this is the case for me as I went and did a pretty big thing (not sure if you heard but I got married!), we also moved out of one apartment, went to London for the month of September, and moved into a new place in Miami.

Outside of these, I would say one of the biggest shifts I’ve seen in life is that everyone is overwhelmed, busy, and there seems to be a frenetic energy in the world. I’ve spoken with many people, friends and family, to clients, to strangers and the consensus is that the world seems to be spinning faster than ever and we’re all just trying to catch up.

It’s the end of October as I write this and I don’t know about you, but it has felt like I can never quite catch a breath. I’m swimming upstream and the moment I feel like I’m in a calm state, the universe throws another punch.

It’s exhausting.

Now, I’m not one to bitch or complain. Quite the opposite as I look at all things in life as an opportunity to grow, see where I can be better, and make changes to create more ease and joy.

I will say though, between what is being called the summer of ‘revenge travel’ with what felt like the whole world going on vacation all at once, to inflation and rising prices, a war raging in Ukraine, women fighting for their freedom in the middle east, politics becoming dirtier and dirtier in America (and that’s just the beginning)... it seems like we’re all just trying to keep our head above water.

It's tested and challenged me, and I’m sure you as well.

I have absolutely felt like there’s something “in the air” where the retrogrades are getting more intense, people seem more exhausted and both in work and life there’s a sense of go-go-go. Almost like a subconscious need to catch up for lost time during the pandemic.

This is just a musing of mine. Sharing something I personally have gone through, and I’m sure you have too.

One thing that helped me was recently going to Mexico for 5 days to reconnect with myself. Now, I realize not everyone has the opportunity to just get up and go. But the reason I share this is it helped me to realize/remember that my work will not crash and burn if I take time off.

Like many of you, I can get caught up in the “everything needs to get done now” mode of thinking.

This essentially puts me in my masculine energy, taking me out of that beautiful divine feminine that I create from. That little break was a reminder that slowing down, being present to oneself and disconnecting helps you to see that YOU are the most important thing in your life.

Anyways, these are just some thoughts I have and wanted to share. Because if you are feeling this way, just know you are not alone.

I truly believe that we are in this interesting period of life with such a beautiful opportunity to connect deeper with ourselves and the true meaning of life (which is NOT all about hustling and making money).

PS - my goal with these blogs is to share more, be vulnerable and get back to a place where I was when I started in the wellness industry. I used to talk about my eating disorders, share what I was feeling, learning, and things that excited me. As my brand grew, I felt like I needed to follow what other leaders were doing - which was not sharing personal things.

In one sense, I was attempting to “copy” others because I liked their success and it seemed this was a model that most everyone did. At the same time, it has not felt real for me.

And so for the past few years I battled with blogging because I wasn’t sharing what I really wanted to. With this new website and branding, it’s my intention to share anything and everything that I feel inspired by, hopefully in an attempt to connect deeper with you.

I’d love to know if this resonates or if you’ve been feeling similar things. Comment below and let’s chat! And if you enjoy my rambling thoughts, let me know. It’s helpful to hear what you want me to share about!

Tons of love,

Nikki
