Ep. 40

How To Identify If You Have Trauma & Heal From It with Hilary Russo

In this episode, host Nikki Sharp speaks with guest Hilary Russo who shares her personal experience of dealing with secondary trauma as a journalist during the 9/11 attacks.

Hilary shares how she coped with constantly viewing disturbing images and soundbites while also trying to maintain a sense of composure on the news desk. She also discusses how she wished she had the tools and knowledge of neuroscience back then to deal with the trauma.

Hilary talks about the power of self-regulation and shares how Havening techniques have changed her life by separating the trauma from the event and altering her thoughts, moods, behaviors, and habits. Listeners will learn about the importance of seeking help and trauma-informed approaches to cope with secondary trauma.

I was introduced to Hilary via a mutual contact and have to say, this one was of those interviews that I went in not knowing what to expect but was completely blown away.

Hilary’s sense of self and desire to help others is palpable.

We also do some live coaching where she walks me through her technique which is pretty powerful.

I can’t wait for you to listen and hope you enjoy.
